My car is totally dead in our parking lot. It makes me feel bad, because it makes me feel like I don’t take care of it. My father is a mechanic, so having a car that I don’t take care of is a problem for me. I enjoy owning a car, and I take pride in keeping it in working order. Truth be told, usually I just dump the car at my dad’s shop and he takes care of it. To me that still makes me feel like I’m taking care of the car, even though I usually don’t do the work.
Anyway, the battery has died and I have a dead car sitting in the parking lot. While I know that the car isn’t working, it bothers me constantly. Its like a weight hanging over my head. I tried to jump the car last night, but couldn’t get it to start, and I found out why just now. If the battery is totally dead, it wont start at all, the thing to do is keep the jumper cables connected for about 10 minutes, then give it a shot. The problem with making the connection would be that it won’t spark when you try to find a ground, so I learned another trick. Turn on the parking lamps, when they light up, I’ll know I have a connection. These are tips that are very useful when trying to jump start a car, that I didn’t know before today.
